At the 4IM Institute, the recruitment process means a registration form and individual interviews. This process allows students whose school reports are sometimes average, to have the opportunity to show their potentialities.

Forms must be returned by september.

Joining the “Manager-Engineer” (ME) training,
leading to a European Masters qualification.

To join the first year of the ME training, you must:
Attend the 2 years of "classe préparatoire" (i.e. class preparing students for the entry exams to the "Grandes Ecoles", like HEC, top French Business School), with optional Mathematics, or having 2 years' higher education after the "BAC"/"A-levels", depending on the school you come from.

To join the second year of the IM training, you must:
Have a 3 years' higher education level of studies, - Degree qualification/level - with 60 ECTS credits, depending on the course you have done before (economics, arts, law, .)

NOTA BENE: To apply, candidates must not be over 30 years old at the beginning of the academic year.

Firstly, the form
It sums up all the necessary information about the student, either administrative or personal concerning their school years. Students must give copies of school reports, as well as the written proof of the ECTS credits if necessary.
Forms must be returned by september.

Once the students are selected, on of the basis of their application, they receive the notification to have interviews by the Institute. Whenever it is necessary, the status of the form may be consulted on our Extranet Site, informations protected by an access code.

Secondly, the interview
It is an individual interview which goes on during one day, students first receive their notifications. It composed of :

- An interview to introduce one self and explain one's motives (for 30 minutes, with the DGAM).
The DGAM gives information about the Institute, the objectives of the training, how it works, the positioning of the specializations (LRE), the advantages of a training which combines school course with work experience (15 minutes). The student talks about his professional plans, and says what his motives are (15 minutes).

- Management interview (preparation for 10 minutes and interview for 20 minutes, with the DGCR).
The candidate must analyse a professional case, previously explained to him, and must play the part of a manager bringing about solutions. No specific knowledge is required for this interview.

- Interview in French (preparation for 15 minutes and interview for 15 minutes with the DDE). The candidate comments on a text, which allows to judge his level of comprehension, his knowledge of vocabulary and his command of grammar. The subject of the text is related to the studies, past and future.

Interviews take place in May and July, with a possibility to resit at the end of August/beginning of September.


Where do the interviews take place
Interviews take place in the 4IM premises (PACA region). Nevertheless, sessions will be organized in Lyon and Paris.



Joining the “Engineer-Assistant” (EA) training,
leading to a European degree qualification

To join the EA training , you must:
Attend the 2 years of "classe préparatoire" (i.e. class preparing students for the entry exams to the "Grandes Ecoles", like HEC, top French Business School), with optional Mathematics, or having 2 years' higher education after the "BAC"/"A-levels", depending on the school you come from.
