Opening to the international world

Foreign languages
4IM students will work in an international environment (for example within the context of offshore project management). A sound command of the English Language is absolutely essential. That’s why the Institute puts the emphasis on the teaching of this language (and on the French Language too, for foreign students). At the end of the third year, all the French-speaking students must get 700 points at the TOEIC (Test Of English for International Communication), which is essential to obtain the diploma. This applies equally to foreign students, who have to take the TFI (Test of International French).

Seminars abroad
Every year, the whole group of 4IM students must attend a one-week seminar in a foreign university, the seminares carried out by local teachers. On the one hand it favours the learning of the language, on the other hand it creates a synergy between students, and it strengthens their open-mindedness too.
Work-experience abroad
The Institute's one semester system, allows to free 2 months in summer (July, August). The student is strongly encouraged to put his training into practice within the context of a training period abroad, for at least 2 months, and this, at the end of the first, second or third year, according to the student's choice. The institute will help students to find some work experience placement (to write a CV following English rules, covering letters, relations with foreign firms, practical info) and will provide students with support all along the work experience period.
What’s the point in training students in the international and languages fields?
Business evolving in a context which is more and more international, need young qualified people able to trade with foreign customers and work within multicultural teams. That's why they appreciate candidates who have "travelled abroad a lot" during the time of their studies.

Faster hiring and higher wages
Students taken on in an integrated course which alternates periods of studies in France and abroad are really required by firms; many are hired even before the end of their studies. Needless to say that between two candidates of an identical standard of education, head-hunters will always choose the candidate having diversified foreign experience during his studies. Another sign which shows how successful international training is, salaries offered to their qualified executives are on average higher.

The essential command of languages
For all the major firms, the command of at least one foreign language is today imperative. Studying languages at university mainly leads to the teaching profession. But it is also possible to combine languages with other subjects like management or business .
Is the time spent studying abroad recognized in France?
For all the Europeans willing to do their studies or find a job in an other country of the European Union, being granted an equivalent rating of their qualifications in another European country was bound to "give them a headache" ! The standardization of the courses entitled "L/M/D" and working on a system of credits, will make automatic equivalent rating of one's qualifications possible
PACA : A famous region from an international point of view
The site which has been chosen ( Marseilles , the economic and administrative capital of the PACA region) will favour the choice of the Institute by foreign students, thanks to its reputation and its geographical location (international airport in Marseilles , TGV : High Speed Train, commercial port). The fact that there is an international high school in Aix is an undeniable asset, providing the Institute with a number of students having passed their BAC/A-levels, with no further opportunity to continue an "international" training.
